MODES
PokéVersus game modes
The current files describe eight battle labels including Toxic Fog Duo, plus a weekend raid and training. Team Duel also has smaller 2v2 and 1v1 formats. Choose by objective first; map availability and voting can change what is offered.

Which mode should you play?
- Editorial: Territory is a clear starting objective if you want to practice staying with teammates. Chansey is a durable occupant, Onix can lob from cover, and Mewtwo can displace intruders.
- Editorial: Team Duel is useful for learning repeated fights and retreat timing because it allows respawns. Try Mewtwo for mid-range pressure or Pikachu for movement.
- Editorial: choose Voltorb Ball for goals and passing with account levels disabled; choose Toxic Fog Solo for survival or Duo with one partner. Use private rooms for a group practice match without trophy changes.
Raid, training and map counts
Gigantamax Raid is configured for weekends, with 31 Oct 2026 named as its first weekend. It is upcoming on this audit date. Training is reached through a Pokémon’s Try option and has stationary targets, no normal match rewards and one map.
The configured pool contains 36 maps: Catch 4, Snorlax 4, Voltorb 5, Territory 4, Toxic Fog 5, Team Duel 4, 2v2 2, 1v1 2, Knockout 4, Training 1 and Raid 1. Halloween-tagged entries are conditional, so 36 is a configured total rather than a live rotation count.
Why other pages say five modes
The developer’s itch.io listing retains five launch modes; the homepage lists eight battle labels. The larger current mode file includes the raid, practice and smaller Duel variants. These describe different snapshots and counting conventions. All are one developer source family, not independent corroboration. The 2.0 notes say Random changes every five minutes and excludes Solo Toxic Fog and 2v2/1v1; it is not a player-population report.
